این بخش از قاعده های کار با عنوانِ «برنامه داشته باش» ارائه شده است:

 

1.      Know what you want long term. If you don’t have a plan, it is terribly easy not to stick to it and end up where the current takes you.

2.      Know what you want short term. All plans should include practical steps to put into action and make them happen.

3.      Study the promotion system. You have to seize the day and make your own luck.

4.      Develop a game plan. Not many people choose consciously to be a loser but that’s where they end up.

5.      Set objectives. It is almost impossible to be successful or to get promoted if you don’t set objectives.

6.      Know your role. Basically, your role is how to fit into the team- and yes, we are all team players, we have to be in this day and age.

7.      Know yourself- strength and weaknesses. You have to know your role first before you can make subjective judgments about strengths and weaknesses.

8.      Identify key times and events. There is no point using all your energy and power when it ain’t necessary.

9.      Anticipate threats. Each threat that becomes a reality is an opportunity to grow and change.

10.   Look for opportunities. Learn to see opportunities as balls- if they get thrown your way, you have but a split second to catch them.

11.   Make learning a lifelong mission. If you don’t learn, you can’t change, and if you aren’t changing, what’s the point of being here.
