The Rules to Break: Part 11
1. No man is an island. Not only can you not avoid this, it’s all part of what makes being human so wonderful.
2. Two wrongs don’t make a right. The smallest wrongs right up to the biggest just compound each other.
3. When in Rome do as the Romans. It really doesn’t matter what the rules are, but it still matters that you follow them.
4. Don’t judge a book by its cover. If I raise my expectation of other people, they respond far better to me than if I don’t.
5. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. If you push against someone, they’ll push back.
6. There’s no such thing as free lunch. Keep your eyes open, and always question what the catch is.
7. Do as you would be done by. If you want to be treated well yourself, you have a responsibility to respect other people.
8. The pen is mightier than the sword. If you genuinely have the better case, you need to make it clear by putting together a coherent argument.
9. Keep dry, and away from children. Sometimes the glaringly obvious needs stating.
10. Give it time. What used to be normal has gone, and there will be a new normal.
